Antique hand colored folding topographic map of the forest of Fontainebleau, France. Beautifully detailed, illustrated ornate border, numbered key to major sites and points of interest. This map consists of 24 small paper sheets mounted to a linen backing. Text: Claude-François Denecourt (1788-1875) Map: Charles Colinet (1839-1905). This map was published as a non-folding map in 1895. This is the earlier version, published in 1880. Good condition, worn at folds with some tears and holes in the linen, but intact and fairly good color, some soiling. Should frame nicely. Approx. 26 x 23.5 inches overall dimensions.
