Antique hand colored map of the Southern US by Blaeu, 1640. Depicting an area from the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay to Georgia, this map includes settlements such as Jamestown (est. 1609) and Newport News (est. 1621). Based on a Mercator-Hondius map of 1606, with improvements such as a better proportioned Outer Banks in North Carolina. Very good condition. Framed. Some coloring may be later.
