Antique map of part of India, from the London Magazine, c.1760. Probably engraved by Thomas Kitchin, who engraved over 150 maps for the London magazine between 1747 and 1783. Shows residences, temples, palaces, battle sites, siege sites, and the holdings of the English, French, Portuguese, Danish and Dutch, as well as rivers and towns with a few lines of mountains. At this time the British were in conflict with France in this and several other parts of the world. This appears to have been published towards the end of the Second Carnatic War. Decorative cartouche. With folds as issued. Very good condition with overall toning and some mild image transfer aka ghosting, archivally repaired seam separations. Measures approx. 9 x 6.5 inches to the neatline. **SOLD**
