This colored antique map was published in Letts's 1883 Popular Atlas, Being a Series of Maps Delineating the Whole Surface of the Globe, with Many Special and Original Features. This map shows central Italy, including Naples, Umbria, The Marches, and the coast of Dalmatia. Details include area and population of the British Isles and Italy as a whole, with the sixty-nine provinces of Italy, insets of Ancient Rome and a Plan of the Coast in the Vicinity of Vesuvius. Showing major points of interest and geological features, it measures approximately 15.5 x 14 inches and is in good antique condition with some toning and foxing and discoloration and crease at center fold.
