Antique printed color world map showing the world in hemispheres and the comparative heights of mountains and lengths of rivers. At the top are the Northern and Southern Hemispheres and the Comparative Lengths of Rivers, at center are the Western and Eastern Hemispheres, and at bottom is the Comparative Heights of Mountains, divided into geographic areas. Published circa 1875 by J. Bartholomew. On this map, Lake Victoria is known as the source of the Nile, which likely dates it to after Henry Morton Stanley's circumnavigation of the lake in 1875, when he confirmed that the lake was the source. Very good condition with some very light surface soiling in margins. Approx. 16.5 x 20.5 inches to the neatline. **SOLD**
