Published by Johnson and Browning, 1860. Map features a decorative border and includes topographical details, as well as the locations of Indian Settlements, forts, established and proposed railroads, etc. Good overall antique condition with mild toning throughout, areas of minor foxing, and some minor tears at the outer edges as well as one larger tear at the upper left of the map, which a previous owner tried to repair with regular tape (resulting in some staining within the border.) Measures approximately 12.5" x 16.5" (H x W) to the outer edge of the decorative border.

This Bird's eye view map has some labels on it, including Commencement Bay, American Lake, The Narrows, and several rail roads. Text at the bottom is a description of Tacoma. Here is an excerpt: "While far famed as a city of lovely homes; while a leader in the wholesale and jobbing business of the Pacific Coast; while a great wheat-shipping point and distributing center, Tacoma is, primarily and fundamentally, a manufacturing city, and will always continue as such." Art deco border featuring trees and mountain rock. Very good overall antique condition with a center crease and some puctures in the center from being bound into a book. approx. 10.75 x 16.75 inches.
