United States Massachusetts
Antique map of part of Boston, MA, from the Atlas of the City of Boston, Boston Proper and Back Bay, published by G. W. Bromley and Co., 1902. Includes the area approximately between East Berkeley St and Malden St including Albany St, Harrison Ave, and Washington St and what is now the SoWa Market area. These maps were created for tax and insurance purposes and the buildings are coloured by type- the color key was only included on the index, but yellow is wood, pink is brick, grey is stone, and blue is iron. Each property is labeled with the property owner's name. Large numbers designate wards. North is oriented to the right. Shows roads, railroads, public spaces, etc. Good condition with small water stains at bottom corners, mild surface soil/stains, slight wrinkling of the page, edge wear, and overall toning that is darker at the paper edges. Each page of the atlas has a leather tab and the tabs have stained the opposite page. Pages are backed with linen. Should look good when framed- signs of age will still be visible. Measures approx. 22 x 32 inches to the paper edges.
