Antique printed color map of parts of the Alps in Europe from "The Physical Atlas of Natural Phenomena" by Alexander Keith Johnston, published by William Blackwood and Sons in 1856. This map is a very early example of the use of printed color. Featured areas include the Bernese Oberland, Mont Blanc, Chamouni, and the valley of the Rhone. In very good antique condition with some overall toning and very minor foxing, this piece measures approximately 18.5 x 23 inches.
