Antique nautical chart by the Hydrographic Office in the US Navy, 1868-69. This is three charts joined to show Melbourne, New Guinea to South Georgia and eastern extreme of South America. Captain Cooper- Big nautilus plotting from Melbourne north to Ocean Island, Gilbert Archipelago. Eastern chart is newer - 1877 - and lighter color. Generally good condition with water stain in lower right. Approx. 36.5 x 79 inches.

Antique black and white nautical chart of part of Indonesia, showing the Sunda Strait between Sumatra and Java. This chart was published in 1878 by the British Admiralty. Includes seven small inset map and also includes the city of Batavia, or Djakarta, now Jakarta. Very good antique condition, tightly rolled with some minor wear at edges. approx. 37.75 x 40 inches.

All bearings are magnetic. Overall good antique condition with some minor surface soiling, minor surface erosion in lower part, crudely back and edge bound in linen fabric..
