Southwest Indian Ocean to Cape of Good Hope. - Maker: Walker
Antique nautical chart engraved by J. and C. Walker and published by Wm. H. Allen & Co., London, 1845. Includes insets of Cape Town and False Harbor. This is a working chart, used on at least two vessels. Plotting for the ships Anne MacLean, 1849, ("Miserable Ditch" through the Mozambique Channel; February 1849, Ceylon to Barbados, West Indies) and the Concordia of Boston, December 1852 and August 1853, with dates and comments about conditions. Overall condition of this chart is good, it could be restored, but it is probably best not to do so, in order to preserve the plotting information. 24.5 x 37.5 inches.
