Antique uncolored map of part of New York, from the tip of Manhattan and Brooklyn to Coney Island. Shows the Battle of Long Island, fought August 27th of 1776, also known as the Battle of Brooklyn or the Battle of Brooklyn Heights, from the Revolutionary War. Includes an Explanations key that describes the importance of various locations in the battle, including camps and troop movements. From the Family Magazine, published in either 1839 or 1843 (there is some ambiguity as to which date is correct). Very good antique condition with light toning, and some light minor spotting. Approximately 8 x 5 inches to the neatline, sheet measures 10.5 x 6.5 inches.
