Antique black and white map showing the complete course of the Rhein or Rhine river, by Hondius, 1630. The full title of the map is "Totius Rheni, ab eius Capitibus ad Oceanu usque Germanicum in quem se Exonerat Novissima Descriptio". The Decorative cartouche depicts two men drinking Rhenish wine, celebrating the local product. The map shows the path of the Rhein from the mountain above the cartouche all the way to the sea. Uncolored, as it was when it was made in 1633. Restored- cleaned and backed with tissue for strength. Very good overall antique condition. Approx. 17.75 x 20.5 inches

This map was trimmed to the border and the margins were extended by someone who added antique paper edges to all sides. This is barely noticeable in person, except when one looks at the seams or the back of the map. Very good condition overall. Approx. 18.75 x 20.25 inches to the border line.

Alpine skiing made its first appearance in the winter Olympics as the combined, which added a skier's results in both the downhill and slalom. 1936 is the last year in which the Summer and Winter Games were both held in the same country. This poster was created by Ludwig Hohlwein and was printed in 13 different languages and distributed around the world. This is the German version. It is considered one of the most memorable images from the 1936 Olympic games and was also printed on post cards and brochures. It is in very good antique condition, with minor paper loss at seam intersections, has been flattened and backed for stability. Original poster measures approximately 39 x 25 inches.
