Antique black and white map of part of the eastern coast of France, including Rochfort, La Rochelle, Ile d'Aix, Ile d'Oleron, and Ile de Re. Published in the London Magazine in 1757. Includes water depths in fathoms. Shows a fort on the Ile d'Aix long before Napoleon built his sea fort, Fort Boyard, on the island to the west. Very good condition, matted, dark strike. Approx. 7 x 4.5 inches.
