Antique hand colored map of the southern half of Africa going as far north as Jibbel Kumri or Mountains of the Moon, with a large area in the center that is labeled Unknown Regions. Also has tribe names and areas, with mountains and rivers, including "Lupata Mtns, or Spine of the World (doubtful)". From A New General Atlas, Exhibiting the Five Great Divisions of the Globe, Europe, Asia, Africa, America and Ocenaica, with their several Empires, Kingdoms, States, Territories and other subdivisions, corrected to the Present Time, by M. Malte-Brun, 1828. Very good overall antique condition with minor staining, 8 x 9.5 inches.
